Mean

arange in ascending order

The sum of all data
__________________
devided by # of data
the mean is less accurate

eg.
*3,8,8,7,2,10,9
2,3,7,8,8,9,10

47
___ =6.7
7
6.7 is the Mean of this set of data

Median

arange in ascending order
The middle number of a set of data
if there are 2 medians add them up and find the mean
it helps you find out if there is an outlier
eg.
*2,7,9,4,102,5
2,2,4,5,7,9,102

5+2=12
12/2=6
6 is the Median of this set of data

Mode

arange in ascending order
the most frequently occoring number in a set of data
you can have more then one mode
you may also have no mode
you have no mode if the data only consists of one number
eg.
*3,8,8,7,7,7,2,10,9
2,3,7,7,7,8,8,9,10
7 is the most frequently occoring number in this set of data.

Range

arange in ascending order
subtract the smallest number from the largest number
it will tell you if you have an outlier in your set of data
eg.
3,8,8,7,9,105
3,7,8,8,9,105

105-3=102
102 is the range of this set of data.
