Probability

Today in class we went through what Theoretical Probability and Experimental Probability means. We also went through the sheet called Which Italian Insects Often Fall In Love?

This is what Theoretical and Experimental Probability means;

Theoretical Probability - is the ratio of the favorable outcomes to the total possible outcomes, and is what should happen.

Experimental Probability - is the ratio of the favorable outcomes to the total number of trials.

Here are four of the questions on the worksheet we worked on today;

Front page ; Question 13:

You roll a number cube numbered from 1 to 6.

P(a number divisible by 4)

Express the probability as a fraction.

Only 4 is divisible by 4.

1/6 = 0.16 = 16.6 %

Front page ; Question 11:

You roll a number cube numbered from 1 to 6.

P(a number grater than 4)

Express the probability as a fraction.

Only 5 and 6 are greater than 4 using dice.

2/6 = 0.3 = 33.3%

Back Page; Question 10;
