Scribe Post for November 12

Wednesday, November 12, 2008
Today in math class we went over some homework. One of the questions we did was this one:
(-5)(-4)=
This means take away five groups of 4. Since you cant take away 5 groups of negitive 4 you have to make zero pairs.

Once you take away five groups of zero pairs it should look like this:The answer is 20.

Now for todays work. We went over some rules on multiplying integers. Here are those rules.

When you multiply an even amount of negitive integers the product is always a postive product. Another one is when you multiply an odd number of negative integers the product is always a negitive product.

eg.

Homework for today.

Todays homework we had to Prove the room 17 theorem with questions 13-18 in the green book. This is what I did. Well I just answered all the questions. I didn't really get this homework, but I tried.

I choose Robin to be the next scribe. HAHAHAHA

Har har har im the first commenter dudes. Now that was very good Mark but their was some spelling mistakes on the top but it was a satisfactory job. You have good explainations on the math logos we just did in class, you also have good pictures to explain the problems. And you briefly answered the homework we did very very good. In my case of deduction on my response to yours I would give you a nine out of ten, I'm not sure about the mark so just leave it to the experts to do it. Now I sign off of my beautiful gorgeous comment.

Nice job Mark! Just a couple of things to fix. The first thing is the pictures, which aren't really your fault in the first place. The reason being that they look bad but only because they were done in Paint (or at least I think they were) and then switched to jpg. I would advise you to change the last one (the one with all the questions) either to a bmp or just type them. You might also want to change the other one with even more writing in it to a bmp. The other thing that I think might help would be an explanation of how many zero pairs you need because as Mr. H said you could throw as many zero pairs as you want up there but then that would affect your answer. So you'd probably want to say you need five groups of four zero pairs (or something along those lines). Other than that I'd say that your scribe was very well done.

Urban Duckie reporting :) I just noticed that you said remove negative 4... It should be remove 5 groups of -4.
Also, you could try making your pictures more clear, because it's kind of blurry. If it was just one picture, maybe you could try making multiple big pictures. I don't know, just a thought.
