Today in Math class we learned about distributive property. We use the distributive property when we are multiplying more than 2 terms. Multiply each of the terms inside the brackets by the number outside the brackets.

Here are examples that we did in class with Mr. Harbeck.

Ex. 5(n-7) means five groups of (n-7)

n-7
n-7
n-7
n-7
_____
5-35
or
5(n-7)
5(n)= 5n
5(-7)= -35
5n-35

Ex. 6(7+n) means six groups of (7+n)
7+n
7+n
7+n
7+n
7+n
7+n
_____
42+6n
or
6(7+n)
6(7)= 42
6(n)= 6n
42+6n

Ex. 6(2n+4) means six groups of (2n+4)
2n+4
2n+4
2n+4
2n+4
2n+4
2n+4
______
12n+24
or
6(2n+4)
6(2n)= 12n
6(4)= 24
12n+24

Here is the last example that we did in class.

Nice scribe Jowella! Just a few things to fix. The first is obviously the amount of white space throughout the scribe (particularly at the bottom). This could be accidental though (the scribe thingy could've done it) but you should still fix it. Another thing you might want to add is the date in your title to make it easy to see what day the scribe is for. If you do that then you can get rid of the date right below the title. Another thing you might want to add is the label: algebra or something like that because that's the unit we're doing right now (this goes for all others who've done scribes in the algebra unit). One last thing that you could add is maybe a few examples from the homework or even just saying what the homework is. Other than these few things your scribe was very well done!

    Jowella!
Awesome scribe. I liked how you used colour. And how you revised your scribe, adding the homework and more important details. Also I liked how you put the picture for the first example it was very eye catching.

I think you can improve your scribe though. For starters, I think that you should create more pictures to make your scribe more interesting. Adding Videos and Links would't hurt either.

But I still think that you did a great job! ☺

Whoa!:o Nice scribe Jowella! It's so colorful and attractive, when I opened the page I was like whoa:O! LOL. You explained everything really well. To make your scribe better you should put picstures;p<---yes I said pisctures. You should also put a video or a link but you don't really need it, just suggestions for next time when you're the scribe. And you should also get rid of the empty space, it might not be your problem because sometimes the blogger has problems like that. Over all it was fantastic!!!
    GOOD JOB ELLA!;p
