- arrange the data in ascending order
- all of the numbers in set of data divided by how many numbers there are
- with an outlier the mean is a less accurate "average"

- arrange data in numerical order
- the number that is in the middle of an odd set of data
- if the there is an even set of data, you must find the mean of the two middle numbers

- you can have more than one mode
- you can have no mode

- arrange the data in ascending order
- subtract the smallest data from the largest data
*large range = outlier
