A square has 4 equal sides. // The rat has a hypotenuse (the longest side) the hypotenuse is always opposite of the right angle.














Pythagoras was a famous Greek Mathematician alot people also didnt know who he was or if he really exsited or not.
that was born on Samon, A greek island in the eastern Aegean. Pythagoras was the first man who called himself a '' Philosopher '' and was a lover of wisdom. He was born on 580-72 BCE and died near 500-490 BCE.

legs - It connects together to make a right angle.
hypotenuse - It is the opposite of 90d. and the longest side
R.A.T - Its a right angle triangle
Greek - someone that came from greek.
theorem - A theorem is a statement that is prove by many people.

(Haiku) - Adding Integers

Adding integers
Adding numbers together
It's really easy.


(Free Verse) - Subtracting
When you subtract a positive integer into a negative integer you get something wild .. like a tiger. His eyes are like fire, the number gets higher and higher like people singing in a choir. Sometimes i know its hard looking at the board and confuse, and you refuse and when the teachers asks you whats the answers is, you lose. You choke and say ' I don't know ' and Harbeck says ' Why won't you just show ' He said ' ok , let me do it my way, to get a positive integer, you gotta' be patient and think, not blink and just to sink from the bottom to the top, and when you finally realize the answer then that's when you stop. All you have to do is add the opposite, and when you add the opposite then that's it.



(Free Verse) Partitive
Partitive's easy, like taking candy from a baby. All you really have to do is divide and decide by dragging em' numbers into a group, and count how many times it'll get in.

our class created 2 rules to fallow
look at your equation.
how many negative integers do you have there
Mark it on a piece of paper
tell me ,
do you have a negative amount of integers ?
well if you do your sum must always be a negative
negative one or negative 102
or is it an even amount ?
well don't have a doubt
when you have an even amount ,
your sum must be a positive.

John : Jennifer! wait up. Long time no talk man. Where have you been these days?
Jennifer : Just busy, since it's the holidays. The real question is, where have you been these days? ( They both laughed. )
John : Haha, pretty much the same. I'm just here to pick out some stuff for the family.
Jennifer : Oh i see, well I'm here alone, what about you?
John : Yeah, same here. My wife's at work, and the kids are at basketball practice.
Jennifer : Oh, they play basketball? Same with my daughter.
John : Oh really, well i gotta' get going. Need a ride?
Jennifer : Sure, thanks.
( In the car .. )
John : So where you off to now?
Jennifer : Well, i really have nothing to do at this moment.
John : Well, uhm. wanna' go out to eat? My treat ( He smiled)
Jennifer : Haha, sure.
John : Hey, i have these math questions that been bugging me for awhile, think you can help?
Jennifer : Yeah, no problem.
John : One of the questions is n+3-5n+12.
Jennifer : What do you think the right answer is?
John : I'm guessing its -6n+15
Jennifer : Whoa! How did you get that?!
John : Well, i think the letter 'n' means that the number is by itself, so i add them up together. and that's what i got.
Jennifer : Nice try, but i got -4n+15 because the letter 'n' means its a positive.
John : Wait, i don't get it. Hows it a positive?!
Jennifer : Well, i was taught that it was a positive because it had no signs in front of it, so it makes it a positive. Also when you add a negative number and a positive number you have to have 'zero pairs' so the answer is 1-5=-4n.
John : So if it does not have a sign, its a positive right a way?
Jennifer : Yes.
John : Jennifer, i have another question.
Jennifer, Okay what is it?
John : I really don't get this one. 2+4(3n+8)
John : But, according to my calculations i think the answer is 12n+10.
Jennifer : Not really, what you gotta' do is multiply.
John : What do you have to multiply?
Jennifer : You first have to multiply 4 by 3n. Remember what for the signs. Then 4 by 8.
John : And then?
Jennifer : So, whats the answer to 4 times 8?
John : Hm .. 32.
Jennifer : Right on. Your first steps would look something like this ' 4x3n ' ' 4x8 ' then just bring it down to 2. So all you really gotta do is add it up and see what you get. +2 to 32 = 34.
I guess that's.

Today in class, we got a new booklet. We have put away the yellow one, and we now have a green one. In the green one there are no brackets (training wheels). But there are some that do have training wheels, just to help you. That is practically all we have done for today. Mr. Harbeck has only talked about that for the whole 55 minutes we were with him. We need to do Part ONE on page 3 and also Part TWO on page 3 but only the even numbers. Here are 3 questions and answers for the homework we got.

Part One :
5. 9 - 23 = -14
6. -5 + 8 = 3
7. -12 + 25 = 13

Part Two :
2. (-8) - (7) + 5 = (-10)
-8 + -7 + 5 = -10
3. 8 - (-4) + 7 - (-2) = (+21)
8 + 4 + 7 + 2 = 21
4. 5 - 2 - (-7) - (-3) = (+13)
5 + -2 + 7 + 3 = 13

It was 3:00 in the afternoon and it was thundering outside, John was home alone. His parents went to work, they don't get back until 10:00 at night. So John was wondering around the house looking for something to do. He went to his bedroom and picked out some movies to watch. So he was resting, watching the scary movies he rented a day ago. John was getting really hungry, so he went to the kitchen and tried to look for something to eat. He was out of food, but he realized he had 20 dollars he saved up about a week ago. So John went out to a store to get something to bite. To get there he had to take a bus. The bus cost 2 dollars, John wanted to get home with the exact of 15 dollars. So John made it to the store with 18 left from the bus. He had to find something that was 3 dollars or less, but he realized he also needed money to get back home. ( + 20) + ( - 2 ) = 18.


John only had 18 dollars left in his pocket. He walked around the store with a opened mind. So if he only had 18 dollars and 2 dollars to get back home he'd only have 16 . ( + 18 ) + ( - 2 ) = 16. But like i said, John had to go home with exact 15 dollars. He wondered around the store looking for food that cost 1 dollar, everything was 2 dollars and up. John didn't know what to do ..

A few moments later he realized, there was another food store near this one. The store there was called ''Better Deal'' So John decided to walk there and see how much that cost. He went in and walked around for a bit. '' It's a better deal here'' he said walking around. Everything was on sale for 1:50 to 3:50. John only could buy something for a dollar. He was confused, thinking what he was going to do, walking around with his head down. Suddenly he bumped into this girl, the girl said '' I'm sorry '' and John said '' no , its okay '' They both smiled at each other. John introduced himself, and the girl said '' my names Anne '' John said it's a nice name with a smile on his face. They both walked around together. After awhile John realized he still had to buy something, so he asked Anne if there was anything here for 1:00 ? Anne said '' there's a medium box of chips for 99 cents '' John smiled and asked '' where '' but Anne also said she took the last box. The smile on John's face disappeared. But Anne smiled and said '' Here, just take the one i bought '' John was to nice to take it, but John saw Anne's '' take it or else '' look, so he did. John said thanks. ( + 16 ) + ( - 0 ) = 16. John's day was pretty good, he still had 16 dollars left.

He just had to figure out how he was going to get home. It was 5:32 and he's thinking if there's any bus coming or not. A bus came. He had 16 dollars he had to have exact 15 when he comes home. So he went to a bus and was short a dollar. Everyone was looking at him all weird. John was embarrassed but luckily Anne was behind him and gave him a extra dollar. They both looked at each other and smiled . Anne and John sat beside each other in the bus. John was staring outside the window, saying to himself '' what a lucky day ''

Mean

  • Arrange data in ascending numerical order.
  • Divide the sum of all of the numbers in that set of data by how many numbers there are.


Median

  • Arrange data in ascending numerical order.
  • Find the middle number by crossing of the end numbers until you have one or two numbers left.
  • If you have two numbers left, add both of those numbers together and then divide that number by two.
  • If you have one more number left, you have got your median.
  • Great to use if there is an outlier.


Mode


  • Arrange data in ascending numerical order.
  • you can have more than one mode or no mode at all.






Range

  • Arrange data in ascending numerical number.
  • Subtract the largest piece of that from the smallest.
  • If you have a large range there is a possibility that you have an outlier.
