Over the winter break we had to do something that is called "Pay it Forward", for my "Pay It Forward" i did was I take care of my Auntie son so yeah... Later on he was crying so i dint know what to do good thing i found a toy that is a car and he stopped crying.
Well it was okay for me because sometimes i do it while my Auntie is at work. I felt really proud of my self because i made my Auntie son stop crying.
Yes, anyone can make a difference just by making other people feel happy or proud of you.

For Pay It Forward I went out side and shoveled my yard and my 2 neighbors yard. I baby sat my little sister and my younger cousins . My youngest cousin is not such a patient kid she is hyper doesnt listen and so on. While i was doing these i was offered some money i said no thanks and just to Pay It forward .They asked me how to pay it forward i told my mom and i told my auntie and they both said they would . When i shoveled i went inside and made a letter or a card the card was saying " Hi i did your drive way no need to pay me Just Pay It forward. If they asked how to pay it forward i left a message on the other side responding to what Pay It Forward was .Doing these good deed made me think if people help one by one everythingcould change if we use the system Pay It Forward. I did enjoy doing this project.

Pay It Forward
For pay it forward I helped out on December 25,2008 12:30pm, I went to church and alter serve. Usually on Christmas I don't go to church since there are a lot of people. Alter severs do jobs to help out the priest when there's mass. We wore red and white.There were only 4 people alter severing at that time.
My brother, 2 other people and I. Since I was the oldest among them, I had to carry the cross. :( I didn't like doing the cross because the person carrying the cross "leads" everyone to the front. When I was leading everyone to the front, I was wonder if I was walking too fast or too slow. Since I didn't want to make a mistake on a very special day. When I was at the front, I was relived that I didn't make any mistakes yet. When I looked at the audience, I didn't realized that there were that much people. I felt really nervous. Then later on in the Christmas mass, I suddenly felt sleepy. I kept yawning. Of all the days I could yawn it had to be now. I tried to stop yawning but I couldn't. So when the choir sang I sang with them. It made my yawning stopped. One problem fixed and another to come. When I was going to ring the bell, It felt like it was going to break. There were four bells on it and one of the bells felt loose. i was praying that on the second time I ring the bell that it wouldn't break. Luckily it didn't. It broke the next week I came. When mass ending, I was glad that I didn't make any mistakes. I was glad that I helped out on Christmas.

Hi my name is Jai. Over the Christmas Break, I had to do an assignment called pay it forward. Pay it forward is an idea that sombodey had to improve people's lives. to complete this idea one person has to give an act of random kindness to 3 people. Then you will tell each of the 3 people that they have to the same thing that you did for them to 3 other people. The thing that inspired our teachers to even think of doing this is a movie called "Pay It Forward". All of the grade eights got to watch it on the last day before Christmas Break. In the end of the movie, it becomes sad because the kid who thought of pay it forward died when he was trying to help another kid in his class that gets bullied a lot. Below, you will see pictures of what I did for this assignment. It includes before and after pictures.

Pay It Forward
On our last day of school all the grade 8 students watched a movie called "Pay it Forward". We were asked to complete a random act of kindness for a stranger or someone we know. I decided to shovel my neighbours walkway because he hurt his back and isn't able to do much like shovel his walkway, and for him to shovel his walkway would cause him a lot of pain.
I dressed up warm and made my way across the street to help him. Then I knocked on his door, when he answered he greeted me and I told him that I would like to help him by shoveling his sidewalk, he seemed really grateful. He said to me "Thank you, but it's okay Courtney", I said "oh no, I would be happy to help you". He smiled and said "Thank you". It made me feel really good to help him because I didn't want him to shovel his walkway and be in pain while shoveling. I explained the whole reason of "Pay it Forward", and asked him if he had the chance if he could also help someone who was needing help, and how it could make a difference in that persons life.
Yes, one person can make a difference. Everyone can make a difference by lending a hand. A simple smile and friendliness can mean the world to someone.

Hello people! My name is Rinorm and I can not believe I actually did something for this project. For the holidays we were asked to pay it forward by doing anything to help the world. For me, I decided to shovel my cousin’s driveway and my own driveway without charge.
I decided to shovel my cousin’s driveway because on a cold snowy night they phoned my mom and said they were going somewhere. I realized that they were going on a holiday so I said to myself, "I'm going to shovel their yard tomorrow." And that’s exactly what I did. The next morning I put on my shorts, jogging pants, undershirt, t-shirt, 2 sweaters, a jacket, two pairs of socks and shoes. When I walked outside I was so cold because I have just learned that it snowed a lot early in the morning. I went to their back driveway and started to shovel. When I finished the driveway I decided to shovel their walkway too so I did. When I have shoveled everything I went back to my house. When I got inside my dad asked me to shovel our own driveway and that is what I did. When my cousins got home they phoned us and asked who shoveled and I said me and I said “Pay it Forward please!” and they said that they would try to. I was very happy.
As you can see from this picture that i actually did this and I was very, very cold. Well I hope that I have encouraged anyone to "Pay it forward." I have to go now. Peace Out dudes and dudettes.

On the last day of school, we watched a video called Pay It Forward, and we had to do our own act of kindness for someone we know, or a stranger. The sidewalk was filled with a lot of snow, and I should've did this earlier, but I came on the day before school starts. When we got there it was already dark, because it's Winter and we came at 5PM. I started shoveling the sidewalk first, because it was hard to walk through with snow nearly up to your ankles, then I helped a bit with the front yard, but it was almost all clear already because she had cleaned some of it herself.
After I shoveled the sidewalk and front yard, I went inside. She thanked me and I asked if she could try to do a kindness for another person, and I told her about the Pay It Forward project. She told me she will try to do an act of kindness for someone she knows and tell that person to do one for another, and so on. After that, I felt glad that she did not have to shovel all of that snow herself.

Have you ever thought of helping someone out , without getting anything back? I know most teens think "Oh that's a waste of time!" But really it's just a nice thing to do, especially if someone has done something nice for you.

For my act of kindness, I'm thinking of helping anonymous people like the elderly, children, and the homeless. Some of my ideas to pay it forward was to help at an old folks home, help at the Children's Hospital, babysit for free, volunteer at a Christmas cheerboard, shovel someone's driveway, do community service, do chores at home without being told, and to donate money, clothes, or toys. I thought about going to the Children's Hospital or Calvary Place. I'm going to pay it forward during the break.
What I ended up doing was I made cards with Abby, Arielle, Carrie, Gelli, Arielle, and Tracy. The cards we made were about paying it forward, explaining what pay it forward is, why we are doing it, and how others can help. We all participated and equally shared the work by thinking, writing, drawing, and coloring.
On the front of each card said, "Pay it Forward" and to read before thinking to even throw it out or something similar. If you think about it, do you think you'd read something handmade made by anonymous people in the mail? Would you throw it out without even reading it? I honestly probably wouldn't take the time to read it, but maybe if it said something like, Please read before throwing out." or "Before you even think of throwing this out, please read it." I'd probably read it. We also drew pictures on the front of the cards like flowers, cartoons, and forward symbols like the ones on a VCR. In the inside of the cards basically covered the who, what, when, where, why, and how. We also drew diagrams of one person paying it forward to three other people, each of the three paying it forward to three other people, and so on. We showed how it can spread quickly to many people and around the world. We also attached a lollipop to each of the cards to show our appreciation to pay it forward. We put the cards into mailboxes of unknown people.
I felt that I have done a good deed by spreading the message to others. I also felt like watching someone open their door and read what we had left in their mailbox and how they would react. I think the people whom I have given it to would have probably had a happy feeling reading the card and had a smile on their face wondering who had made the cards. I'm hoping that the people who received the cards actually read it and don't tend on throwing it out. I hope that they also pay it forward to help us spread the message.
Do I think that one person can make a difference? I know someone can make difference, it may not be a huge difference like to stop global warming but everyone counts. Even if that difference is very little, it will continue to grow no matter how small it may be. It is almost like a tree, it'll start out small and it will take time for it to grow, but in the end it is a large beautiful tree, and all the waiting really paid off. I think if you really believe in yourself that you can make a difference in our world and that you never give up, you will make a difference. No matter who you are. Age? Size? Culture? Ethnicity? That all doesn't matter, what matters is what is in you! Every little difference can make a HUGE DIFFERENCE! EVERY PERSON COUNTS!

Pay it Forward
After viewing the movie pay it forward I decided to shovel my moms back driveway to the parking lot so when she or her boyfriend park back there they dont have to trudge through the snow to get there.
While Ishovled the walk my mom took a picture of it and quickly ran back inside. While I shovled the walk I didnt get very cold because not much wind gets inbetween me and my neighbors house my mom was very happy and though she did not ask if she could pay me I still told her to pay it forward.
I believe that one person can make a diferance.

For that act of kindness me and Joysie decided to do something simple that would make someone special happy, babysitting, and we're going to do it for my dad's friends and their 4-year-old daughter, Dana.

We decided to do this when I heard that my parents invited them to dinner after the Holidays. I thought it was the right time because it's dinner and my parents want them to have fun. I told them I will take care of Dana and they can just have fun. Me and Joysie looked out for her while her parents are eating, we fed her, which is very hard because she doesn't want to eat anything and played computer games, hide and seek and dollies with her.
What I felt after doing this:
After we did this I felt happy because I was able to help them even in a very small way. When they left our house they told me that they had a great time. Dana was sad because she doesn't want to leave and she wants to play more. One more reason is because Dana and her family just moved here to Winnipeg from Ontario. She said she misses all of her friends and that she has no one to play with because she's an only child. I told her that I will come over to her house more often to play with her. I asked Dana if she can 'pay it forward', of course I had to explain to her what I meant and after I did she said she will try.

Pay it Forward
Have you ever performed an act of kindness "just because"? In school, we were given an assignment to "Pay it Forward". We watched a movie about a boy our own age who tried to make the world a better place to live in. Grade 8 students, such as myself, are assigned to complete an act of kindness; and not only expect anything in return but to realize the feelings of giving rather than receiving. There are many things you could do for this type assignment such as: babysitting, shoveling snow, donate to charities and many more. I decided to help my parents by shoveling the snow in the front and back yard. I wanted to do so once it had snowed a bit, so I could have something to shovel.
I shoveled my parents' front yard walkway and backyard walkway. Living here, I know how cold it can get first hand, so I wore the thickest, biggest, and warmest jacket I owned, and ski pants, winter boots, a hat, a scarf, and gloves! To say at the least, I was very warm. I waited to shovel the snow once it had snowed outside and there was a fair amount of snow piled up. Unfortunately, it was windy, so it blew snow around. It took me roughly one hour or so to finish the deed. I felt content about what I did because I know I did something worth while by helping others rather than myself for once.

My sister had taken a photo of my while I was shoveling snow. I told her to "Pay it forward" too. She responded by asking, "What's paying it forward?" I told her "Instead of paying someone back, do something nice for another person, and so on."
When my parents came home from a hard day of work, they were surprised to see the walk ways were cleared, and shoveled. My dad was pleased to see what I had done, he even offered to pay me for the work I did. Obviously, I did not accept the offer. I told him "Pay it forward." My family thinks pay it forward is a good idea, and I think so, too!
For this type of assignment, the possibilities are virtually endless. There are so many things things you can do, so the result should be grand. Each student in each class had done at least one kind act. Roughly, if there are about 30 students in each class, and there are 4 homerooms. That means there are at least 120 students each doing at least one good deed in grade 8. That's 120 good deeds being done, just for the sake of doing a kind act! If each of those 120 people affected by this assignment were to "Pay it Forward" that would make 240 people affected by "Pay it Forward". The numbers grow exponentially, and "Pay it Forward" is a really great cause! Anyone can get involved, so you should too!

PAY IT FORWARD
Over the holidays we were assigned an assignment called "Pay it Forward. We are supposed to do one or more acts of kindness and ask nothing it return but maybe expect "Paying it Forward". I went outside and shovel some front yards of nearby homes on Jan. 3/09. I did this job anonymously and put cards inside their mailboxes saying Pay it Forward.
How I Pay It Forward:
I went outside and got our shovels and marched to the front yard. I picked random homes and got to work. I shoveled this house's front yard, its front lane and the side. It was very hard and I got very tired but at the end, I saw that our work had payed off. Kevin took some pictures of me working hard shoveling. After the hard work I felt happy that I helped someone. I asked nothing in return expect asking them to Pay it Forward.
How I Pay It Forward:
Over the holiday I also babysat my nephew Ryan and let my sister Linh and her husband have a night out. Babysitting Ryan was very fun, he likes to watch movies and often likes to play hide and seek. After Ryan goes to sleep and the job gets easy. I just have to watch him if he wakes up.
Can one person make a difference?
Yes, one person can make a difference and sometimes that person inspires the whole world that they believe they can also make a difference too.
Pay it Forward
Before the winter break all the grade eight students watched a movie called Pay it Forward. It was about a young boy trying to make the world a better place. After the movie, the grade eight students were assigned to do an act of kindness. I decided to shovel with Giselle,Eunice and Jowella. We decided to help Eunice's neighbor. We shoveled her sidewalk for her. Our act of kindness started on December 27, 2008. We also shoveled some of Eunice's sidewalk for her parents.
Can one person make a difference?
One person can definitely make a difference. If nobody made a difference we wouldn't have the things we need.
We walked up to the neighbor's house and we rang the doorbell, but nobody answered. Instead we did it anonymously. Before we began shoveling, we noticed that some parts of her sidewalk were already shoveled. Instead we tried to take off the ice on the steps for her. When we finished I felt like I accomplished a lot for just doing one thing and still feel like doing more acts of kindness. Since nobody was home, we didn't get to tell her to pay it forward. Now I know the meaning of the assignment. It means taking time from our lives and help someone in need. I hope she notices what we have done to help her and pays it forward to someone else.

Over the weeks I did 3 Pay It Forward. But I only have 2 pictures of me doing pay it forward, because I forgot about my camera for the other picture. But I did 3 at least. oh and I did all of it by myself because most of my friends did one already.
Part 1 (Pay It Forward)
First Thing I did was babysitting my cousins. I babysit my cousins for about 4 hours because I had to go home and my Aunt brought them home. Sorry about this because this is one of a part I don't have my picture because I forgot about it when i got to my Cousins.

Instead of Just Shoveling Someone's House, Why don't I just Shovel the back ally? So cars can drive through the back ally easier. So I did the back Ally. Last Pay it Forward I did. I got Neighbor that I always help her, like shoveling, taking out the garbage and cleaning up. But I heard that shes in the hospital and she has to stay their for 2 months. So I did Some Work in the house Cleaning and taking out the Garbage. So she won't be back in for a 2 months. I hope she can come back from the hospital and she'll feel better. Well heres a picture of me taking out the garbage.

Part 3 (Pay It Forward)
Last Pay it Forward I did. I got Neighbor that I always help her, like shoveling, taking out the garbage and cleaning up. But I heard that shes in the hospital and she has to stay their for 2 months. So I did Some Work in the house Cleaning and taking out the Garbage. So she won't be back in for a 2 months. I hope she can come back from the hospital and she'll feel better. Well heres a picture of me taking out the garbage.

Pay it forward
Before the grade 8 students were sent off to go have fun over the holidays, we watched a movie. And this wasn't a movie like "Bolt" or "Twilight." This movie was called "Pay it Forward." You may think whatever, why would you watch that? That was what i was thinking when Mr Harbeck turned the movie on. But as we got into the movie, it really did touch me. The movie was about a boy, he was about our age. He got to class one day and his teacher gave the whole class an assignment, they were to do acts of kindness for people without expecting anything else in return. I really got into The movie got me thinking how we have it so good, compared to some other people out there. It got me thinking about how ungrateful I am for the stuff I have. After watching that movie, it hit me, that we are lucky just to have food into our belly's for the holiday season. So after watching the movie, we were given an assignment. We were to "Pay it forward". The grade 8 Sargent Park students were supposed to make a difference in someone's life this holiday season. We were to do random acts of kindness, just because.
How I payed it forward: My first act of kindness was when I babysat my older cousin's kid, Anthony. I watched him for the whole day, so that my cousin could go out to the gym and relax. I had a fun time watching him. It was fun watching him, even though I do babysit Anthony often. When my cousin came back to the house to pick up Anthony , she was offering me money for watching him, but i told her it was fine and just to try and make a difference in another persons life. She just laughed at me and said, " Ill try make a difference but, it isn't as easy as you think it is." But I told her to try her best because after all it is the holiday seaso

Pay It Forward
During my winter break Eunice, Nikki and I Paid it Forward by helping Eunice's neighbor. Her parents said that the lady who lived there was getting old, so we decided to shovel her side walk for her. Our act of kindness began on Saturday, December 27th. We all met up at Eunice's house and also shoveled some her sidewalk for her parents.
Of course one person can make a difference! If one couldn't, then we wouldn't have all the things we have today.
When we got to the neighbors house and rang her doorbell nobody answered. So we just did or job anonymously. We noticed that part of her side walk was already shoveled so we tried our best to remove the ice for her steps. After our job was done I felt like doing more. Doing something nice for someone really makes you feel like you accomplished a lot by just one act. That is the whole point of this assignment, to take time from our busy lives and help someone else in need. Since nobody was home we didn't get to ask them to participate in Pay it Forward, but I do hope that they noticed what we did for them and that it inspires them to do something nice for someone.
Can one person make a difference?Of course one person can make a difference! If one couldn't, then we wouldn't have all the things we have today.
Pay- It- Forward
Over the winter break, Mr. Harbeck assigned an assignment. He told us to do something good for one person and in turn ask them to pay- it- forward. The goal is to make a signifance in someone's life. Karen and I teamed up to work on the project together. Plus, this would be a great opportunity to brainstorm with another person.
We decided to assist Karen's Godfather in taking care of his daughter, Dana. We both loved kids and babysitting. We knew Karen's Godfather and wife were overwhelmed with deadlines and the readiness of Christmas. We told Karen's god father that we could sit for Dana while him and his wife have a day to themselves. They agreed to this and we had arranged to baby-sit Dana on December 23th at Karen's house.
When we babysat Dana, we did not know how she would react to us. Her cousin and her friend taking care of her without her parents, was a dramatic change for her. But luckily for us she got used to this arrangement and got used to being around us for a few hours. After our babysitting session, we felt kind of tired and at the same time contented that we did something good for someone to make a change in their life.
Later, when Dana's parents came to pick her up, they asked us how to pay us for all of our hard work. We told them instead of paying us money, they could pay- it- forward. They were suprised that we rejected the thought of payment and confused about what paying- it - forward meant. We simply told them that paying it forward meant that you had to do a good deed for someone-else and in turn that person would do a good deed towards someone else. They were first suprised on what we wanted in return, then they understood what they had to do to pay us back.
And yes, one person can make a difference. Whether your big or small, old or young, rich or poor everyone can do their part and make a change. If everyone does a good deed then passes it on, more and more people will have the passion to do a good deed. Everyone can be a good samaratan and make this world a better place.
Winter break project! (Pay it forward)
Pay it forward
Over the winter break we were asked by our teachers to " pay it forward". Which means to do a random act of kindness and not ask for anything in return. So I did my brothers chores, and visited my Nana ( grandma). I also helped re- do my basement over the break . In the next few paragraphs I will explain how I did this!
So first I shoveled my 2 walk ways. I wore a hat, mittens, and a heavy jacket because it was really cold out. The first time I shoveled my sister helped me, because it wasn't that cold out. But the second time I shoveled was today and it was really cold out. But I didn't care because I was helping my brother out by shoveling for him. And I was also helping the mail woman because she can't deliver our mail if the our path has snow all over it! So here is a picture of me shoveling.
I also helped my parents with our basement. First I helped sand the walls in basement. Then we needed to clean up all the dust down there and vacuum everything. After that my sister and I had to clean all the walls with warm soapy water. That really hurt my arms . The next day we were ready to paint. I don't really know how to paint, so I only did some painting in my basement . After we painted , there was MORE cleaning! I had to crawl on the floor on a towel and clean up any paint that fell with a rag. Gross ! Sorry I don't have a picture of me doing this!
One day after I was done cleaning down stairs. I thought of my Nana and I thought she would like it if I would bake her cookies on a cold day. So my sister and I made her some oatmeal and pecan cookies. After they were made I phoned my Nana and asked her if it was okay if I could bring her something. And that it was a surprise! I packed the warm cookies in a container and my sister and I walked over there. She asked us to come in and talk. So we did, she told me how happy she was for thinking of her and that she loved me. Which is normal because she's my grandma. When we came home I felt really happy because all I could think of was that my Nana was happy because I thought of her. And that I did something nice for another person. Even if it was my grandma and not a stranger.
For my last act of kindness I volunteered to serve lunch for other people. The people I served were ones I know from my religion taking a 2 week course . So they weren't complete strangers :) Any ways when I got there I helped prepare the plates of food for the lunch. By the way we had Greek food it was really good! ^^. When the people came out , the other severs and myself would ask them if they would like any thing to drink or if they were enjoying the meal. This was a lot of fun because I got to catch up with a few friends that I haven't talk to in awhile. And when they were done eating they clapped for us, because we did a job on the food! Which was nice because they really appreciated the meal and the kind act. Over all it was really fun. Behind me is the place I severed at.
I really liked this project it was a lot of fun! :) I liked how it made us think of others before ourselves and it makes the world a little bit better. And like Mr. Harbeck says their are a lot of us grade 8 kids . So just imagine if we all help 3 people or even if we only helped 1 it still makes a difference. And it makes us happy because we made someone smile! Maybe this wasn't or first choice to do a random act of kindness over the holidays but I know I feel really happy for doing this. So thanks to all the teachers for assigning this project! And I hope everyone had a good break! <3

Pay it Forward
This year grade 8 students at Sargent Park school were asked to "Pay it Forward" over the winter break. Paying it forward means to do a random act of kindness "just because" and instead of getting paid back you tell the person that you helped to "pay it forward" (doing another random act of kindness just because). For pay it forward I decided to give to the Salvation Army because it helps those who need it the most. So, I did that and I was done but I still wanted to do some more. Eventually my dad had to snow blow our driveway (we have a snow blower and he uses that instead of a shovel) I decided to give him a hand by shoveling the walkways to our house as my second random act of kindness.
Once I was dressed in very warm clothing I went outside (along with my brother) and began to shovel. After I had finished shoveling the path to our back door I went to go see how my dad was doing. I then found out that the snow blower was broken (or something like that...it wouldn't work...that's all I know). Needless to say I started to help him shovel our driveway. Once we had finished shoveling our entire backyard we started on the front (me doing from the beginning of our path to the stairs, my brother shoveling the veranda and my dad shoveling from the backyard to the front yard). Once we had finished with those jobs my dad began making a path in the snowbank in front of our house. He was using an icebreaker (not the gum mind you) to do so and he only had one so he sent my brother and I inside. Later, my dad came inside and thanked us both and I told him to "pay it forward". He just nodded and said okay (he probably assumed that I'd tell him to pay it forward).
So you see, anybody can make a difference in the world. All you need to do is give a little of your time to help somebody out. In this way we can all make a difference, especially if you tell the person that you helped to pay it forward and they tell the person they helped to pay it forward. In this way, that one little thing that you did adds up and makes the whole world a better place for everybody to live in. Thus, I encourage anybody who reads this to do at least one random act of kindness and to "pay it forward".
