Pythagoras !

Then we have to explain some artifacts that Mr.Harbeck posted for us. The first article is the picture above this. The picture represents the Pythagoras Theorem. The definition for it is above the picture.
(no picture because everytime i clicked the picture icon, it would freeze.)
Well, the picture is sopposed to be a simple square. A square has 4 right angles which is 90 degrees each, and all together it would equal 360.
(I could not get the rest of the post done because the computer at home was super slow:( )
Our next assignment was to make a video on how to solve the problem's on the videos.
This is the video I made with Kim C. and Courtney.
2nd Video:
Pay It Forward
Over the Christmas Break, I decided to donate some glasses to the African kids. It all started a few days before Christmas day, I went with my mom to her work. In her office, there was a box with tons of prescription glasses in it. I asked my mom why they were in the box and she tld me they were for the kids in Africa who need glasses. When I got home, I thought about my Pay It Forward and searched my house for some glasses tha
Great Big Book Of Algebra ! (Ch.2)
Lara-Hello Jackie ! How's it going ?
Jackie-I'm doing good ! And You ?
Lara-Oh man ! I had soo much fun at school today !
Jackie-Really? Why was it soo fun ?
Lara-Because we learned about Algebra ! Didn't you take that in school today ?
Jackie-..I don't know.. I don't pay attention in school..
Lara-Wow.. Im disappointed..
Lara-Well, anyways.. I should teach you , it is quite fun to do !
Jackie- Okay.. fine! But I hope it is fun ..
Lara- Oh don't worry it will !
Lara-Okay, our first question is n+3-5n+12 !
Jackie-Okay let me think... hhmmm..
Jackie-well.. I think it is 6n+15 !
Lara- Haha , nice try Jackie , you were very close ! You see , -5 + n = -4 and 3 + 12 =15 .. so the answer would be -4n+15 !
Jackie- oh .. wow you really know your math huh ?
Lara-yes I do !
Lara-Okay let's do another question !
Jackie-Fine, fine !
Lara-alright, what is 2+4(3n+8)?
Jackie- uhm .. Isn't 12n+10 ?
Lara-Nice try.. again.
Jackie-*sigh*
Lara- What you would do is ,4 times 3n is 12n. Then 4 times 8 is 32. 12 and 32,bring 2+ which is now 2+12n+32, then add 2+32 is 34. So now the question is, 12n+34 !
Jackie- WOW ! Very good Lara ! Thanks alot for helping me out.. Next math class I'll sure pay attenton thanks to you !
The Great Big Book Of Algebra !
There was once a boy who did not know how to add,
So the boy asked his dad,
and his dad said, "go to school son!"
So, the boy went to school,
and he thought it was cool!

Scribe post for Nov.26
We had 10 questions as usual, and we had 20 minutes to do them.
Our first question was..

As we all should know , -3+(-5)=-8 and (-8)-(11)= ----->-19<-----
2)
Now, (5)(-4)=-20 & (-2)(-1)=(2)(-6)=-12
(-12)+(-20)=---->-32<-----
3)
6(-2)= -12 & (-3)(1)=-3
(-12)(-3)=36 & -3(3)=-9
(36)/(-9)=---->-4<-------
4)
(-5+19)= 14 & 6(-1)=-6
(14)+(-6)=8
8/-4=---->-2<-------
Well, I guess that is it because Mr. Harbeck told me to do the first 4 questions! (:
Anyways.. yeeaah, BYE & comment like crazy!
Oh right , and the scribe for monday is .. KEVIN ! haha. >x)

Integers
AKA
No more training PANTS
Green book-1st pg. ( Mr.H asked to do the first 3 questions )
1) 6+8=14
2)-4-3=-7
3) 15-2=13
In standard form we combine integers.
For 3) just imagine it like this--> (+15)+(-2)=13
Have 15, Owe 2 =13
By the way if you have noticed, THERE IS NO AND!
So, Mr.H told us to do it like this -> 15-2=+13
WELL.. I think that's it because i cant think of anything else to put on this soo, yeaah . Buh-Byee! (:
The Integer Contest
We entered the building together, there was a lady at the back of a table with a list of names. She asked us our names, told us to put a paper with numbers, 7, 25, and 30 and told us to go down the hall until you reached a door with steps going up. When we got up the stairs, we saw a big stage full of chairs, and a microphone stand at the front. We all looked at each other, we weren't expecting this, it looked like some sort of spelling bee contest. There was also a lady in the door to the stage, holding a list of names. She asked us our numbers which was on the front of our shirt and told us to sit on the chairs. We then decided to sit on some chairs on the corner of the stage. We could see lots of other kids around, lots of them looked smart. There was a woman and two men behind a table at the very front, we thought were the judges.
She thought, twenty-eight minus twenty-four is 4, it should be positive 4.
"The answer is positive fourteen!" Her voice was louder than last answer, she felt more comfortable."Correct!" Said the judge. "You may go now."
Lara's Measures of Central Tendency, mmm
-great to use if there is an outlier
-Find middle number
-data must be arranged in numerical order
-if there are 2 middle numbers, you find the mean of them

MODE!
-Find the most common number in the set of data
-arrange data in ascending order
-you can have more then one mode or you can have no mode
RANGE!
-arrange the data in ascending order
-subtract the smallest data from the largest data
-Large Range=Outlier

Here is a video i found on mean, median, and mode !
